Approaching Freedom

Freedom
As I was sitting by the water watching the light glimmer off the ripples of the waves I began to hear Nina Simone’s beautiful voice crooning through my headphones and singing to my heart… “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free”

“I wish I could share
All the love that’s in my heart
Remove all the bars
That keep us apart
I wish you could know
What it means to be me
Then you’d see and agree
That every man should be free”

Because I expect the unexpected in these now moments, even though I have listened to this song countless times, I was not surprised that it took me until now to be ready to truly HEAR the words. As I sat soaking in the rhythmic cadence of Nina’s voice my vibration lifted 🕊and I was amazed all over again how powerful our hearts 🫀💖 are and how they are the 🔑🗝 to the freedom and liberation that so many of us long for and yet most of us have not come to the realization that the outside world will not ever give us the freedom that we desire. The true essence of the liberation and sovereignty that we await lies only within.

When we make the decision to begin the process of going within and reconnecting with our heart it truly takes committed conviction. The deconditioning of ourselves from what we have been taught through societal norms, expectations we have put on ourselves/by others, judgements, false beliefs etc that we have ingested lives in us on a cellular level and it takes committed conviction to stay with the process… wading and sifting through beliefs, habits, behaviors to find your way back to the gold of your heart.

When we allow ourselves to listen to what our hearts have to say and VALUE the power, wisdom, knowledge and TRUTH that lies within we can then start to make empowered choices from a space of what feels good to our hearts and allow that knowledge to lead us.😎 Seeing with clear vision sometimes for the first time in our lives the richness, vibrancy and beauty that is all around us. It is through this process of building a relationship with our hearts through listening, feeling and honoring our ❤️’s desires that we begin to uncover our true selves, who we are and what we came here to do.
